Visit to Centro Televisivo Vaticano (Vatican Television Center) Via del Pellegrino – 00120 Città del Vaticano The Vatican Television Center is the international broadcaster of Vatican City State. Vatican Central Television was first aired in 1983. Meeting with Monsignor Dario Viganò, Director of CTV, who has recently been named to be in charge of all Vatican communication, including Twitter.
We are a group of nine people, organized by Mr. Gabriele Delmonaco, President and Director of Boys and Girls Towns, my friend Mr. Raffaello Sinisclaco, the United States representative for Sister Nature, a fifty-year old sustainability effort based on the writings of St. Francis of Assisi. Mr. Sinisclaco is a highly acclaimed associated press journalist as well.
StarShine’s 15 Guiding Principles and StarShine School in a Box are considered as one part of the sustainability efforts focus for the Pope’s visit to the United States, based on raising children and schools to teach values-based living and the importance of caring for one another and the planet.
As we continue inside of the Vatican walls, we pass many police. There are three types of policemen: the Italian Police, we meet first as we continue to walk. The next step up in security is the Vatican Police and then as we come near the Pope, we encounter the Swiss Guards.
We are now taking a tour of the inside gardens where the Pope takes daily walks and to meditate. They are amazing.
Everywhere we look is more and more beauty and serenity. There are symbols of peace throughout the property and the luscious smells of springtime in Italy.
Steve and I take a break to go to the Vatican post office to buy some stamps and postcards for the StarShine kids and teachers and then we grab a bite to eat in a street cafe in front of St. Peter’s square…literally the table is on the street.
The Romans eat at 9:00…me, getting up early to work and then going all day until late at night takes some getting used to.
Dinner is organized by Mr. Raffaello Siniscalco and hosted by Mr. Giancarlo Rossi (Financial Advisor and Philanthropist) and will be at 8:30 in (Parioli) – 00197 Roma.
We walk back over to the Vatican and decide to do a tour of the museums, the Sistine Chapel and the main part of St. Peter’s Basillica.
